  12.     - Released: April 6, 1997!
  13.     - Bug Fixes:
  14.         - Star Gazer was telling me he thought the file was turning the More
  15.           Prompt OFF, but forgetting to turn it back on. Upon checking into
  16.           this, I noted that if an error occurred in the CNB program, or if
  17.           you opted to use the Create Archive command, this WAS the case. I
  18.           made these areas also re-enable the More prompt. I then noted that
  19.           the AMaint file was doing the same thing, which normally would NOT
  20.           have posed a problem, however if a user used the CNBA command, THEY
  21.           would lose their More prompt as well. The AMaint file now reenables
  22.           the More? Prompt as well.
  23.     - Changes/Additions:
  24.         - An idea that occurred to me 2 days AFTER releasing the 3.50 version
  25.           was to create a .BAK BackUp Set. I refer to this as a CLONE BackUp,
  26.           where instead of the file creating an LHA archive of the files in
  27.           the given BackUp Set, it simply CLONED them in the SAME paths, but
  28.           using a ".bak" extension. You can now create a BAK setup, where any
  29.           FILES or PATHS can be listed. Numerous internal changes had to be
  30.           made to both files:
  31.             - When ADDING the BAK set, you'll be allowed to enter the text
  32.               description and the interval days, while all other fields are
  33.               automatically filled in with "moot" values.
  34.             - By default, hitting ENTER in the Extension field while empty
  35.               used BAK as the extension. This was changed to CNB instead.
  36.             - When EDITING the BAK set, you'll ONLY be able to EDIT the text
  37.               description, interval days, and last backup date.
  38.             - While modifying the FileList for a BAK set, you'll NOT be
  39.               allowed to enter a filename ENDING in ".bak", nor will you be
  40.               able to EDIT or CLONE an existing file, so it ENDS in ".bak".
  41.         - When a CLONE (BAK) BackUp is performed, files in your FileList are
  42.           COPIED using the ADos COPY command, with the COM parameter. This
  43.           ensures that the COMMENT is ALSO copied to the backup file. By
  44.           default, the file's PROTECTION ATTRIBUTES are copied to the BAK
  45.           file. The TimeStamp will reflect the DATE/TIME the .BAK file was
  46.           created. Any EXISTING .BAK file that MAY exist is OVERWRITTEN by
  47.           the NEW, regardless of it's timestamp.
  48.         - No LOGS are created during the processing of a BAK set, however if
  49.           MISSING files are found, AMaint will still send a MAIL message to
  50.           SysOp ID # 1.

  58.       - You can now specify complete PATHS in your backup sets. For example,
  59.         you could specify "systext:" and have ALL files located within the
  60.         systext directory backed up.
  61.       - Numerous additional options added to each backup set:
  62.           - Ability to set the PRIORITY to which LHA packs and tests it's
  63.             archives. (From -5 which uses very few system resources, but
  64.             at the cost of extra time being needed, to 5, which basically
  65.             takes over your system and results in the fastest creation)
  66.           - Ability to ONLY have the EMail messages sent to you if the
  67.             created archive contained integrity errors, or to receive the
  68.             mail whenever a backup is performed.
  69.           - Ability to use a "FAST" display mode, which makes LHA perform
  70.             a bit faster all around.
  71.           - Ability to NOT compress files initially. An archive containing
  72.             all listed files is created by simply storing the files in the
  73.             archive with NO compression. When the archive is created, the
  74.             archive itself is then packed. In certain circumstances, this
  75.             results in archives 20-30% smaller than those that are packed
  76.             initially from the start.
  77.       - Archive Test Integrity has been expanded to give the file the
  78.         ability of KNOWING when an archive fails an integrity test. It
  79.         can then take further precautions in these instances.
  80.       - A "clone" command has been added to the List-Add routines, so
  81.         that if you enter a LONG path, then have another file that is
  82.         very close to the first path, you can simply delete a few
  83.         characters and create the next item in your list.
  84.       - (I believe this one is old, but don't see it listed here). You can
  85.         now create an LHA archive directly, without having to create a
  86.         BackUp set first. In this instance, it is thought you will want to
  87.         additionally send this archive to a user on your bbs, so once the
  88.         archive is created, you'll be asked for an Account ID # to which
  89.         a piece of file-attach email will be sent to the user with the
  90.         created archive attached.
  91.           - Changes made to this feature include:
  92.               - The default filename presented is MMDDHHMM time stamp,
  93.                 using 8 characters, to be compatible on IBM systems.
  94.               - If an ID number is specified, the created archive will be
  95.                 copied to that user's mailbox before the mail is created.
  96.                 This allows you to use the CNB to create other archives,
  97.                 without losing the first archive before the user can down-
  98.                 load it.

  104.         - There was a bug in the AMAINT module that resulted in only the
  105.           first backup list to be backed up, even if other lists were
  106.           present. (Had a variable conflict in there)

  108.         - Added the newer version headers and footers to both the CNetBackUp
  109.           and the CNetBackUpA files. Now uses smart version variables and the
  110.           parse source method of smart home path seeking.
